Giles!” Andrew hissed.

“Yes, I know you’re out there.” Giles replied, exasperatedly.  “I thought we agreed that you would remain out of sight.”

“I know, but I stayed away as long as I could.” Andrew looked around furtively. “We have a P-R-O-B-L-E-M.”

Giles sighed, and rubbed his forehead. “I’m quite certain Buffy and the others have not been away from this plane so long that they’ve forgotten how to spell. Besides, we’re alone.”

“What? Oh.” Andrew stepped from the shadows. He was wearing a brown trench coat. Giles half expected him to take a pipe out of his pocket.

Andrew took a pipe out of his pocket.

“They won’t be gone long, what was it that you came to tell me?”  Giles inquired impatiently.

“Wesley.” Andrew fiddled nervously with the pipe in his hand before reluctantly speaking. “He…escaped.”

A low growl came from deep within Giles’ chest and his eyes flashed gold. “How?”

Andrew paled. “I don’t know what happened. We had the body constructed; I used the orb and channeled the soul, just like you told me. But he woke up confused. He thought I worked for Wolfram and Hart. He pushed me away and ran out. I’ve looked everywhere.”

Giles voice was icy. “How long has he been gone?”

Andrew screwed his eyes shut. “Months”

Giles slammed him up against the courtyard wall. “You find him, or I will remove your innards one circuit at a time. Is that understood?”

“Yes,” Andrew squeaked.
